The Transmission Line Engineering is the mainstay of HECLA’s activities since the birth of the Company. The related companies have several decades of experience in that field till 800 kV, including overhead lines and substations.
 Softwares to optimize the transmission towers and the overhead lines (MoDeST © & ICEtow ©) have been designed by Linuhönnun, now EFLA.
HECLA is assisted by EFLA when electric engineering is needed, mainly in potential rise and electromagnetic fields calculations.
The Icelandic National Electric Company Landsvirkjun and its subsidiary company LANDSVIRKJUN POWER bring their Transmission System Operator abilities HECLA can offer to various customers.
In 2003, HECLA has signed a contract with the French Transmission System Operator RTE for the technical studies of the French transmission lines. To perform this task, HECLA operates with 6 PLS-CADD © licences and 6 TOWER © licences recommended by RTE. More than ten engineers are permanently working to carry out strengthening studies and rehabilitation surveys of the Fench network.
HECLA is qualified by the Portuguese Transmission System Operator, REN, to study the enlargement of the national transmission network and is also qualified by the Spanish TSO REE.

Hydroelectricity |

HECLA plays as commercial vehicle on behalf of Landsvirkjun Power to explore countries already fitted with hydropower units to provide them with our know-how in refurbishment and renewal.
Feasibilty studies, supervision of works and B.O.T. projects are some other goals.
 HECLA team will do the project management.
HECLA is qualified by the Moroccan Electric Company ONE.
References are based on projects from 5 MW units to 630 MW groups.

HECLA is confirmed as certified ISO 9001-2008
The accredited certifier organism Bureau Veritas Certification France has again certified again on September, 9th, 2011 Quality Management System of HECLA being estimated and considered corresponding to the requirements of the standard NF ISO 9001 : 2008 in the field of Engineering in Electrical Power Transmission.

After the French festival in Iceland in 2007 and the purchases of original works of French artists in the field of photography, painting and ceramic, HECLA has chosen and decided to support the foundation created by Ateliers d’Art de France.

HECLA in Morocco
Having fulfilled the conditions required by the Moroccan Electric System Operator - ONE, this one notified by a mail on October 14th, 2011 the qualification of HECLA to intervene in Morocco in the field of transmission lines studies.

HECLA is certified OPQIBI
Our engineering saw awarding on August 1st, 2011 the certification OPQIBI n° 11 08 2322 for the qualifications concerning the studies of the current metallic structures and the studies of VHV networks.
