The sustainable culture is deeply rooted in the group for decades.
The Icelandic huge amounts of environment-friendly energy in the form of its geothermal and hydro resources led our group to conduct an untiring environmental policy.
 For example, Landsvirkjun’s activities are not confined to producing electricity and constructing power stations. The Company undertakes dynamic environmental work with the aim of ensuring that utilization of energy resources causes a minimum of disruption to nature.
Landsvirkjun has drawn up an ambitious environmental strategy which is implemented on the principles of environmental perspectives into account in all aspects of the Company’s activities.
HECLA uses its high-level knowledge to offer such services to foreign utilities like in Western Africa with CEDEAO.

HECLA confirmed as certified ISO 9001
The accredited certifier organism Bureau Veritas Certification – has certified again on November 4th, 2008 Quality Management System of HECLA being estimated and considered corresponding to the requirements of the standard NF ISO 9001 : 2000 in the field of Engineering in Electrical Power Transmission.
