The aim of the project was the detailed study of the future 330 kV interconnection OHL line route (330km) between Ghana, Togo and Benin for WAPP – CEDEAO. From the corridor defined in a previous study, HECLA has carried out all necessary site surveys to draw the various maps and longitudinal sections of the future OHL. To do so, local surveyors performed the pillaring, measured the GPS coordinates of each pillar and altitude of ground along the line every 30m, and reported all encountered obstacles.

From these input data, the longitudinal sections of the line route have been drawn (330km).

In parallel, an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) study have been carried out in all areas crossed by the OHL.

A summarized report has been delivered to WAPP representatives. The ESIA study has been realized by our partner COYNE ET BELLIER.

Survey and drawings have been made by our Ghanaian subcontractor, RUDAN Company. HECLA brought its expertise in the field of Overhead Transmission Line design in the choice and definition of the final line route, by integrating all the constraints, so environmental as technical for the construction works.
